FAQ

Q: How does the system work?
A: The system operates in a similar way to radio and television - the sender transmits a signal and the radio or television acts as a receiver. With radio nurse call, the room units are the transmitters and the control panel is the receiver.

Q: Is the system approved?
A: The design and manufacture of our products comply with all healthcare regulations and are fully approved by the CE, DTI and by Heath Authorities and Social Services throughout the country.

Q: Is it interference free?
A: Safeguards have been built into the Courtney-Thorne Radio Nurse Call System. Software screens out unwanted signals from emergency services, mobile phones and other radio transmissions.

Q: Will my building be suitable for radio nurse call?
A: Our equipment has been installed in sites covering over 40 acres and in buildings constructed of solid stone.

Q: My residents have special needs, can you help?
A: In working with many specialist care organisations, we have designed a range of products for people with various disabilities such as the mouth adopter and air switch adaptor for residents with limited movement and the physically disabled.

Q: Is the system reliable?
A: All items are manufactured using the highest quality components and tested to ensure the system will continue working reliably for many years to come.

Q: How often do I need to change the batteries?
A: Under normal circumstances, battery life is over two and a half years. When batteries do require changing, a low battery signal is sent to the control panel.

Q: Is radio nurse call cost effective?
A: The installation of the Courtney-Thorne Nurse Call System has no hidden expenses. There is no cable to run, no trunking to fit, no chasing out of walls and no redecorating. The system can be installed in just a few hours.
